The Reunion

--Central Core Hospital, Late Evening--
Adrian sat in the waiting room nervously clenching onto a bouquet of flowers he'd hurriedly, normally by now his phone would be buzzing with a call from Shingari and his other bosses asking him why he hadn't turned up to work today but he'd have to face them later, it had been a long time since there had been any news about other surviving characters from his world and most of them hadn't been anyone he'd known but today the doctors called him in to meet someone, he pulled out his wallet and looked at a photo  that he'd kept there. In it he was with his family sitting on a park bench together with his Dad wearing an embarrassing hat and His Mother giving his little sister a piggy back ride.
A nurse came into the hall and called in a purple coil snake that had also been sitting down leaving him as the last one, thinking back it was a miracle that he had made it this far, first his town had been invaded and his parents pressured into joining the Pigmasks and Young Charlie as he affection ally called his sister had vanished, what hopes he had of finding them had been wrecked when The Pigmasks inadvertently caused the corruption of his world leading to it's destruction...it seemed so long ago but sometimes it felt like it happened yesterday and he could still remember jumping into the Void with Eve not even considering that he might survive..at that point he had just clung onto her to try and hold onto something precious..The Nurse called and he fell out of that thought."We think you'll know this person", Adrian nervously fiddled with a pen in his pocket as he tried not to get too worried..But as soon as the Nurse pulled back the curtain all plans to keep his composure fell through, On the bed Lay Young Charlie, asleep with a bandage around her head...her eyes opened and she smiled and tried saying something but it came out as a whisper, Adrian ignored the Nurses and just held her close and  embraced her with tears slowly leaking out the corners of his eyes, he sat there stroking her hear and rocking her like he used to do before he noticed she had fallen asleep again "She's weak at the moment but she would have been much worse if she hadn't been looked after by this fellow", the Nurse pointed to a droid slumped in a chair deactivated "We think it's a prototype Robot from Aperture Innovations" The Nurse dusted off some mud revealing a 1970's looking logo along with the serial Number ECKO_5"It seems to have had its memory damaged, it wouldn't let her out of its sight when the Scavengers found them in the crash site so we had to use brute force to turn it off, Charlie insisted we bring it here with her though, we think that if it hadn't been for it she wouldn't have survived so well out there.

Adrian studied the robot for a minute, it was a tangle of wires and metal panels in a humanoid shape with a single red light making up its face, on the front panel the surgeons had disconnected the battery powering it off "Tell me, what's going to happen to this Robot after we leave" The Nurse looked at it and made a grumpy face "Well normally they are sold off for scrap or put into long term storage at the Archives but we don't know right now..", Adrian had seen that section of the archives and it had given him bad dreams since, just looking in the pods seeing people frozen in an un-natural sleep,he fished out a credit card from his wallet "How much would you get if you sold him for scrap?" the nurse looked startled before going through the different prices they had gotten in the past 2I see then..in that case ill buy this off you", He withdrew some money from a cash machine downstairs and handed it to the startled Nurse who had the sense not to push her luck. Charlie wriggled in her bed as she slept 2You can take her home now,just make sure she gets a chance to recover" The Nurse shooed him out the room and Adrian took the robot with Him, he propped it up on a bench and plugged the battery back in.
As the machine stood up Adrian realised that this thing looked quite formidable standing about roughly Seven Foot in height giving credibility to the story that it had Protected Charlie in the Crash Site, The Droid blinked it's light looked around confused before looking at Adrian "The Nurse said you looked after my sister in the Crash site...Thank you for saving her...Do you have a name?" The Droid's servos whirred and clicked for a second before it said "No...No Control Name Imputed" in a crackly voice. Adrian looked up and down at him, "The Nurse is preparing a wheelchair for Charlie so i can take her home.." The Droid looked dishearted and stood up as if to leave "Hold on a second...I may be happy to bring my sister home but I cannot look after her all the time.Would you like to be her Nanny?" The Robot just stood there beeping then suddenly rushed Adrian and held him off the floor on a Hug with a Smiley face Emote appearing  on a small screen on its chest "Aahhh..Ok let me down now.."Adrian let himself loose from the robots grip and opened the door to get his Sister who had now been strapped in a wheelchair which she's need while her energy levels returned over the next few weeks, Adrian Noticed that Charlie had drawn the robot with the tagline "Ecko5" on a colouring book the nurse had given her, he prised it from her sleeping arms and looked at it "Want this to be your name? He asked?" The Robot didn't say yes or no; it just started repeating its new name excitedly as if it had never had a name before until Adrian commanded it to Push Charlie's Wheelchair, Adrian checked a message from Eve and smiled smiled as he left through the hospital gates, he had lost most of his family and everyone else from his hometown but right now he felt lucky to have who he had as he walked out into the sunlight.
